The Ayahuasca and other plant medicine ceremonies at Kinti Yaya are led by Willak, a 7th-generation Kichwa Otavalo Yachak (traditional healer and lineage holder) with nearly 30 years of ceremonial experience. Co-founder Maja Krauss, a nature-assisted therapist (M.Sc.) and trained psychedelic facilitator, is responsible for screening, organization, integration and the therapeutic side of the retreat.
How many people take part in a retreat at Kinti Yaya?
Retreats at Kinti Yaya are held in small groups of 5 to 10 participants. The small group allows Willak and Maja Krauss to have individual conversations and healing sessions with every guest, and guests live, eat and spend their days together at the center.
What is included in an Ayahuasca retreat at Kinti Yaya?
A Kinti Yaya retreat includes airport transfers from Quito, lodging, all meals, all Ayahuasca and other plant medicine ceremonies with Willak and Maja, online preparation and integration sessions, and individual conversations with the facilitators. Between ceremonies, the program includes Kuyuriy yoga, teachings from Willak on healing practices to continue at home, day trips to sacred natural sites, a day at the Papallacta thermal baths, and somatic movement and nature-based therapy sessions with Maja Krauss.

How should I prepare for an Ayahuasca retreat at Kinti Yaya?
Preparation for a Kinti Yaya retreat begins weeks before arrival with your personal online preparation session. Beyond the diet (no red meats, dairy, processed foods, coffee, etc.), preparation means clarifying your intention, planning quiet days after the retreat, and being fully honest in the screening about your health and medications.
Is there integration support after an Ayahuasca retreat at Kinti Yaya?
Yes. Every Kinti Yaya retreat includes daily integration sessions and sharing circles on site as well as two online integration sessions after guests return home. There is always time for individual conversations with Tayta Willak and Maja. Past participants are also invited into a community group with others who have sat in ceremony at Kinti Yaya. Maja also offers one-on-one integration coaching sessions online, if you’d like to be guided further in your integration process.
How do I get to Kinti Yaya from the airport in Quito?
Airport transfers are included in every Kinti Yaya retreat: guests are picked up at Quito’s international airport, and the drive to the center near Perucho takes about one hour.
